Jim Griffith has over 30 years of experience covering the areas of safety, workers’
compensation, hazardous waste, DOT regulations, EPA Superfund and environmental
permitting. Jim was a safety supervisor for an offshore oil and gas production company
for nine years. He served as a liaison between the corporate office and the government
regulatory agencies for offshore operations. In addition, he was the competent person
for the shipyard confined space program.
As the safety/environmental manager for a defense manufacturer, Jim was responsible
for developing safety policies and procedures; conducting hazard assessments; organizing
safety communications; and starting a labor controlled injury prevention group.
In addition, Jim was the safety/workers’ compensation manager for a major transportation
company for five years.
As Senior Consultant at the National Safety Council, Jim Griffith provides core
course and other occupational training instruction for open enrollment and on-site
programs. He monitors significant trends in technology to keep current and provides
subject matter expertise to Council members and clients.
