Hazardous Chemicals

The National Safety Council conducts a variety of outreach and education activities on hazardous chemicals. Some of these efforts are supported by grants from federal agencies, others are funded by private foundations.

This updated version of Chemicals, the Press & the Public: A Journalists' Guide to Reporting on Chemicals in the Community discusses the Risk Management Program.

The Risk Management Program is a new community right-to-know regulation designed to inform citizens and local emergency management organizations about chemical hazards in the community.
