(THEME :02 AND UNDER)
Andrews:
Hi, I'm Richard Andrews, director of the Governor's Office of Emergency Services. This is an EnvironMinute Disaster Advisory from our agency and the National Safety Council. :10
Announcer: If you have young children, your home is probably "baby-proofed." But you can take some extra steps to help keep children safe during an earthquake. First, take a look in baby's room. The crib should be well away from the windows. And make sure tall bookcases or shelves won't fall on it. Latches on your cupboards do more than keep toddlers out. During a quake, they'll keep the contents inside, so nothing falls on your baby. Make sure preschoolers and school-age children know the safest place in each room — under a sturdy table or desk. Remember, the rule is "Duck, Cover, and Hold." It's a good idea to practice every six months. :35
Announcer:
This EnvironMinute Disaster Advisory was brought to you by the Teresa and H. John Heinz III Foundation. :10
