Environmental Journalism Resources

The National Safety Council worked with general circulation print and broadcast reporters
to encourage effective environmental journalism.

International Programs

In 1991, NSC was invited by The German Marshall Fund of the U.S. to help secure the foundation for a free press in Central and Eastern Europe in the wake of the region’s historic "peaceful revolutions" of the late 1980s. NSC responded by pioneering a "reporters helping reporters" journalism sabbatical and exchange program. The program has helped to link more than 25 Central European environmental journalists with their U.S. counterparts. EHC has expanded its International Environmental Journalism Program to work with journalists and universities in Russia and the Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union.
