Raising Children's Awareness of the Sun
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), EHC, and other organizations and schools across the country are teaming up with schools to teach sun safety. EHC has worked with EPA, teachers, school administrators, health professionals, scientists, parents, and local and national environmental, health, and education organizations to develop the Sun Safety Activity Guide.
The Sun Safety Activity Guide includes cross-curriculum classroom activities and background information packaged as an one hour "core" sun safety lesson. The core is divided into three 20-minute units:
Included in the Guide are developmentally appropriate activities for primary (K-2) and intermediate (3-6) learning levels.
Anyone interested in learning more about sun safety can download the Sun Safety Activity Guide. The guide is designed for elementary school representatives who would like to incorporate it into their school curricula.
Please complete and return the evaluation form when you have finished using the guide so that we can improve future guides.
