Transportation Routes by State
The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is a U.S. Department of Energy facility located in southeastern New Mexico, 26 miles southeast of Carlsbad. The facility began receiving waste shipments on March 26, 1999. These pages contain background information on WIPP.
