WorkZone Safety

With the holiday season travel approaching starting with Labor Day, it is important for workers working on roadways as well as the public driving through or around a Workzone on the roadways be aware of the safety hazards and the risk to the workers in the Workzone. For the workers, it is important that precautions be taken to avoid being struck by moving vehicles, construction equipment, or being ingulfed in a trench or excavation. This safety aspect also includes the workforce in the work zone following the applicable safety and health requirements and that the public passing by the Workzone to be aware of the workers, the work being done, and the equipment being uses as well as obeying the speed limits in place. This presentation will focus on the hazards of work zones, the applicable OSHA and DOT requirements, and also on the public safety aspect.
